Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Manzoor Wassan, famed for making wild predictions about the country's politics, issued a bold statement on Sunday, predicting a dissolution of the government within the next three months.
Wassan said that the upcoming "trimester is extremely crucial" for the political environment. "Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif may dissolve the National Assembly within the next three months."
Wassan also ruled out the idea of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif becoming the next prime minister under the current political situation.
He stated that it would be seen what type of system arises next, but the provincial assemblies will stay intact.
He further said that he does not see any favorable circumstances for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan or other politicians. "Reliefs are given and taken back, so Imran Khan shouldn't be living in his own imaginary world."
Wassan's statements came after the PPP expressed worry over not being consulted on the forthcoming federal budget for fiscal years 2024–25.
"The government did not inform us about the budget or take us into confidence. "We don't know what the PML-N is doing in terms of privatization policy, taxes, or developmental programs," PPP senior leader Khurshid Shah stated.
He went on to say that the PPP knows nothing about relief. Shah stated that it is unclear whether the government is preparing a budget or whether the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is imposing one.
