Five terrorists were killed during intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in North and South Waziristan, the military said on Friday.
In a press statement, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said, “On March 10, IBOs were conducted by security forces in North and South Waziristan districts."
It said that during the operations, five terrorists were killed after intense fire exchange, adding weapons, ammunition and a large quantity of equipment were recovered from those killed.
Concluding, the ISPR said, "Pakistan Army is determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from every inch of our territory with an unflinching resolve."
On Wednesday, six terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation in the Datta Khel general area of North Waziristan, the military said on Wednesday.
Nearly a week ago, two soldiers were martyred in an exchange of fire in the district. The troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location and killed two of them while apprehending as many.

During the same month, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) foiled a terror attack and neutralised seven terrorists – three of them already in CTD custody – in a crossfire in North Waziristan.
CTD officials had told media persons that the militants attacked a convoy transferring terrorists between Bannu and Miranshah, at which the law enforcers retaliated and an intense exchange of fire ensued.
In January, the ISPR said 11 terrorists, including a militant commander and two suicide bombers were killed in an IBO in Tanai area of Wana in South Waziristan’s tribal district.
Over the past few months, the country’s security situation has worsened, with proscribed terrorist groups like the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the Islamic State group, Hafiz Gul Bahadur (HGB) network, and Baloch separatist groups executing attacks with impunity across Pakistan.
The TTP ended its ceasefire with the government in late November 2022, and ordered its militants to carry out attacks across Pakistan.
