In a recent vlog on his YouTube channel, Shafqat said that overseas Pakistanis were raising concerns that the corps commanders meeting has not been held in the last two months, and they were insisting that the reason is regret over ousting former premier Imran Khan. He said that these were all wrong perceptions of the overseas Pakistanis, adding that the corps commanders' meeting is all set to be held within three to four days.
The journalist said that military operations and international issues would be discussed during the meeting.
He also said that the PTI leadership and workers were spreading rumors regarding the National Security Committee meeting by claiming that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, the Naval Chief, and the Air Chief took a stand in front of Army Chief General Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and insisted on conducting elections as per the decision of the apex court. The journalist stressed that these are all concocted stories of the PTI and that nothing of the sort happened in the meeting.
He said that Imran Khan is trying to manipulate and disgrace the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza.
Shafqat said that terrorism surged in the country due to the wrong policies of former army chief General (retired) Qamar Javed Bajwa and former ISI chief Lt Gen (retired) Faiz Hameed, adding that now the army is engaged in combating this menace. "There is one option; either the army could fight against terrorism or perform duty on elections as per the desire of CJP Bandial," he said.
