Pakistan Muslim League - N (PML-N) leader Khurram Dastgir's house in Gujranwala was allegedly fired upon by unidentified men. The attackers opened fire on one of the gates of the residence on Sunday night, according to Dastagir who revealed this while addressing a press conference earlier today.
The PML-N leader was of the opinion that the firing on his house was a tactic meant to intimidate the opposition. He added that women and children of his family were present inside the house at the time of the incident. He further said that the authorities were informed of the incident, but they took no action.
He said that the case against the incident was not registered upon his request, but the police registered it after media covered the incident.
The lawmaker termed the incident a failure on part of the provincial government to enforce law and order in the province.
