Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has adopted the policy of “talk-talk and fight-fight,” as per which he will talk with the establishment behind the scenes but fight in front of the scene.
While speaking at a program on Samaa TV, senior analyst Najam Sethi said that Khan’s supporters are anti-establishment, and he is afraid that adopting a strategy of reconciliation might result in the loss of supporters.
Sethi said that it is confirmed that a day will come when Imran Khan and the establishment will talk with a positive attitude to sort out the matter.
He mentioned that there is no truth in Khan’s stance that he was ousted by the directives of the United States. Khan and other stakeholders, including the establishment, should find a way out, he added.
While responding to a question regarding the Supreme Court’s verdict in which the apex court admitted that former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was not given the right to a fair trial, almost 44 years after the founding chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was hanged in a murder case, the analyst said that it's better late than never. Although Bhutto was hanged to death and is no more, the apex court’s verdict will become a part of history and will serve as a reminder for coming generations that Bhutto was not given a fair trial.
To another question, Sethi said, “I proposed that army chiefs should not seek extensions for their tenure.”
