Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-Ul-Haq Kakar has said that it is a part of his faith to ensure the protection of the lives, property, and dignity of Ahmadis, and no one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands.
While giving an interview to senior journalist Munizae Jahangir, the prime minister reiterated that it is the responsibility of the state to protect all minorities, including the Ahmadiya community.
While responding to a question regarding anticipated lawyers’ movement over delay in elections, PM Kakar said that "bar politics is part of our culture, and I don’t think it is such a big issue."
He said that he has good ties with President Arif Alvi, adding that no meeting has been held with him regarding the date of the general elections.
He stressed that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has a legal mandate to announce dates for elections. He said that the main focus is that delimitations should be authentic.
PM Kakar said that a level playing field is being provided to all political parties, including the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
