Referring to the Supreme Court’s detailed verdict on former National Assembly deputy speaker Qasim Khan Suri’s April 3 ruling, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has said that the apex court has declared former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairperson Imran Khan a ‘liar and violator of the Constitution’.
Addressing a rally in Rawalpindi today, Maryam said that the verdict has finished the PTI chief's narrative of the "foreign conspiracy". "The Supreme Court judge said he [Imran Khan] never gave proof of conspiracy. If he had any proof he would have presented as there is no better forum than the Supreme Court to validate his claim," she said.
The PML-N stalwart said that those who breach the Constitution must be tried under Article 6 and be given exemplary punishments.
Responding to the PTI’s claims regarding pre-poll rigging in the upcoming Punjab by-polls, she said: "Now he [Imran] is crying about rigging. The person who lost all by-polls to the PML-N during his own tenure is saying there is rigging. Imran Khan is the founder of rigging in Pakistan."
She further said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will address the nation today and reduce the prices of diesel and petrol.
