Responsibility To Rebuild, Develop Afghanistan Lies With Afghan War Participants: Achakzai

All those countries and parties who participated in the Afghan wars carry the responsibility of reconstructing and developing Afghanistan.

This was asserted by Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Chairman Mahmood Khan Achakzai while participating in a Diwali celebration and separately visiting Jamia Daruloom Islamia in Loralai the other day.

Achakzai lamented the destruction caused by the West, led by the United States, in Afghanistan to contain the former Soviet Union.

He argued that the responsibility for rebuilding and developing a post-war Afghanistan lay with Russia, the American-led Western bloc, and other allies who participated in the Afghan war.

Expressing concerns, the PkMAP chief stated that powerful states should not exploit faith and nationality for their interests.

He regretted the discrepancy where the West has detailed charters for ensuring animal rights but engages in proxy wars that cause the death of millions of people simply for geopolitical or economic gains. In this regard, he cited examples of countries like Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and Syria.

In talks, he stated that caste, creed, culture, and languages are mere facets of life and an individual's identification. He emphasised that these should not in any way divide humanity or be used as tools of oppression.

At the Diwali function, organised by the Hindu community at Chodary Chand Asghar's residence in Loralai, Achakzai greeted the local Hindu community. He stressed that no one, whether Hindu, Christian, or otherwise, should be considered a 'minority' solely based on their belief.

Achakzai maintained that Hindus have lived in this part of the world for centuries, are an integral part of society and should enjoy the same rights and status.

He underscored that creed and belief are personal matters, and discrimination based on religion, colour, caste, or nationality is unacceptable.

Interfaith, interethnic harmony, and justice were highlighted as prerequisites for peace and prosperity.

During his visit to Jamia Islamia Madrassa, Achakzai exchanged views with the staff and ulema on various issues.
