At least three people, including a soldier, were killed in an ambush on a vehicle in Dera Ismail Khan on Monday.
According to a statement issued by the military's media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on Tuesday, the vehicle of a private company working on a development project in the Darzinda area of Dera Ismail Khan came under gun attack from terrorists.
As a result of the attack, two employees of the contractor in the car were killed.
A soldier deputed for their security attempted to fight off the terrorists but was also martyred.
Those who perished were identified as 35-year-old Muhammad Faisal and 29-year-old Asif Kamran. They were residents of Karak.
The soldier who was martyred was identified as Sepoy 33-year-old Syed Muhammad Shaheen Shah from Hangu.
"Sanitisation operation is being carried out to eliminate the terrorists present in the area," the military added.
DI Khan has become a hotbed of terrorist activities lately, with several incidents reported in recent weeks.
Separately, the security forces claimed to have killed an active terrorist during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Bara area of Khyber District.
The IBO was conducted on November 13 in Bara, Khyber District.
As a result, a terrorist was killed. He was later identified as Qudrat Shah alias Abubakar.
Security forces recovered guns and ammunition from the terrorists. Officials said he was involved in several terrorist attacks.
The military said they remain determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and will continue to support the economic progress of the area.
