DG ISI Appointment: Information Minister Insists Govt, Military 'On Same Page'
Denying reports of tensions between civilian and military leadership, Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry on Thursday said that the situation was 'fine' and the matter was being twisted by some quarters.
The minister issued these remarks while talking to media persons at the parliament house. He added the process to appoint the new DG ISI has begun and will complete soon. "There is no clash between government and the military," he said.

The minister reiterated that all parties concerned were 'on the same page'.

He also said that the government respects every institution.

Earlier, Fawad Chaudhry tweeted that some quarters wanted to play a 'game' on the matter of ISI chief's appointment, but their plan has failed.

Commenting on reports that the prime minister will conduct an interview for the appointment of the new DG ISI, he said that meetings ahead of such appointments are a routine practice. He further said that making such meeting controversial was "highly inappropriate".
