Govt To Declare Winter Vacations In January Instead Of December
The National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) has reportedly decided to move the winter vacation at educational intuitions from December to January.

According to a report by Geo News, the decision was taken unanimously by all provinces in a meeting held on Wednesday. NCOC also decided that the vaccination process taking place in educational institutions will continue and that schools and colleges will be closed in areas that experience heavy snowfall. 

It was revealed by a source that the decision to shift the holidays was taken considering the conclusions reached in a meeting,of education ministers from all provinces, held on Tuesday.

Yesterday the Federal Ministry of Education had said that the question of winter vaccinations had been discussed in a meeting of provincial education ministers and a "final decision will be taken at tomorrow's (Wednesday) NCOC meeting”.

Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood said, in a tweet on Tuesday, “Federal and provincial secretaries met today. The agreed proposal was that winter holidays should be from Dec 25 to Jan 4. Further notifications will be from the concerned governments”.

Last week, Punjab Minister for Education Murad Raas had expressed shock at people asking him to shut down schools over the smog situation, saying that such people are ignorant.
