Two Cops Martyred In Terrorist Attack On Police Lines In KP

At least two police officers were martyred and three others were injured in a terrorist attack at Police Lines in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Tank area on Friday.

The police were targeted by terrorists in the early hours of Friday, according to the police.

One terrorist was killed in response, and Dera Road was closed to traffic, they added, adding that a search operation is continuing in the area.

The injured policemen have been shifted to a hospital, according to medical authorities.

The incident comes just days after six suicide bombers smashed an explosive-laden truck into a military base in the Daraban region of Dera Ismail Khan early Tuesday, killing at least 23 soldiers and injuring many more, according to security officials.

"In the early hours of December 12, 2023, a group of six terrorists attacked a security forces post in the Daraban area of Dera Ismail Khan." The effort to penetrate the post was effectively foiled, forcing the terrorists to crash an explosive-laden car into the post, followed by a suicide bomber strike. The ensuing explosives caused the structure to collapse, resulting in several losses; twenty-three heroic troops embraced martyrdom, while all six terrorists were effectively engaged and sent to hell', the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated in a statement. Tehreek-e-Jihad-e-Pakistan (TJP), a little-known terrorist organization, claimed responsibility for one of Pakistan's deadliest assaults on security personnel.
