Woman, Child Suspected Of 'Illicit Relationship' Killed In Name Of ‘Honour’
In yet another instance of killing in the name of ‘honour’, a woman and a ninth-grade boy accused of being involved in 'illicit relations' were both shot dead by the woman's husband in Lower Kohistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday.

“The accused suspecting his wife to have illicit relations with a boy, first killed the ninth grader and then went to his home and shot his wife dead,” said district police officer Zulfiqar Khan Jadoon.

“The student was on [his] way to school when the accused shot him dead,” the police officer said.

The shooting occurred in the Jijal area of Lower Kohistan district.

In an unrelated incident, a man and woman were gunned down in another case of suspected 'honour' killing in Darazinda tehsil of Dera Ismail Khan in KP.  The man, aged 36, was shot at the Darazinda Bazaar where he died instantly.

Shortly after the man was shot, the alleged gunmen killed the woman, who was married, inside her home in the Kot Falak area of the tehsil.

Both families of the deceased claim that the couple was killed by the woman's in-laws, who suspected that the two were having an affair.

The attackers managed to escape following the shooting.  Police have registered a case against two brothers who are residents of the Kot Falak area.

Hundreds of women are murdered each year in Pakistan by family members over perceived damage to 'honour' that can involve eloping, fraternising with men, or any other infraction against conservative values that govern women’s modesty.
