PTI chairman Imran Khan is being convinced by the security establishment that elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province are 'not feasible' in the near future due to rising cases of terrorism in the province. This was revealed by veteran journalist and senior political analyst Muzamal Suharwardy in Naya Daur's show 'Andar Ki Baat'. "Cases of terrorism are increasing in KP province," Suharwardy said, adding "even two ministers' homes were attacked with hand grenades".

It can be recalled that Imran Khan recently stated he will announce his final decision on the dissolution of Punjab and KP assemblies on 17 December. Analysts have proposed that Khan might dissolve both provincial assemblies on 23 December.
Incidents of terrorism have picked up pace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, bordering Afghanistan. The TTP (Pakistani Taliban) announced an end to their ceasefire, and claimed responsibility for a suicide blast in Quetta, during late November.
During this month, the Chaman-Spin Boldak border witnessed at least two incidents of heavy clashes between Pakistani and Afghan forces. Civilian casualties were also reported in the first incident on 12 December. The second incident of shelling at Chaman was reported on Thursday 15 December.
Apart from the TTP, other militant groups are also reportedly operating in the tribal regions of KP province.
