CDA Website Allegedly Hacked, Lacks Proper Complaint Form

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) website has come under scrutiny following an alleged hack by Indian cyber attackers in September 2024. As a result, the website’s complaint page, which previously allowed residents to submit detailed complaints and receive instant confirmation receipts, has been replaced with a temporary, ineffective form.

Local resident Isa Daudpota, who has raised several unresolved issues with the CDA, criticised the new system for its inability to properly address complaints. He highlighted his ongoing complaint about the replacement of seven fused bulbs in a public park at the corner of Streets 20 and 28. Additionally, he pointed out the theft of ten benches and the occurrence of a suicide in the area, stressing the need for improved lighting and regular police patrols.

Despite submitting complaints to CDA officials, including Mr. Nauman Khalid, Member Technical, and Mr. Ali Randhawa, Chairman CDA, Daudpota reported no significant action taken. He also expressed frustration with the Citizen’s Portal, which promises remedial action only after 20-40 days.

Daudpota is urging the CDA to restore the previous complaint system, with necessary improvements, to ensure better responsiveness to local concerns.
