
On the special directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, a three-day training program aimed at enhancing the capacity of Customs prosecutors, conducted by the Ministry of Law and Justice in collaboration with the Federal Board of Revenue, concluded in Karachi.
The first two training sessions under the program were held in Islamabad and Lahore, with participants from KP and GB also in attendance. This event marks the final training of the series. The program brought together experts and participants dedicated to strengthening legal practices in customs enforcement.
The sessions covered various critical topics, providing participants with invaluable knowledge and skills. One of the key areas addressed was trade-based money laundering, which offered insights into the intersection of financial crimes and customs activities.
Muhammad Sadiq, Director General of Valuation and Chief Collector of Exports in Karachi, graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest. He expressed appreciation for the Ministry of Law & Justice’s ownership of the legal fraternity across the country and its efforts in capacity-building for prosecutors and investigators working in customs.
In particular, he acknowledged the role of the Federal Minister for Law & Justice in this initiative and his commitment to fostering excellence in legal practice. He also suggested organizing similar training programs in the future to further enhance the skills and capabilities of legal professionals nationwide.
