Fatima Jinnah plays with her three-year-old poodle at the Mohatta Palace in Karachi, in a photograph likely taken in 1964.
Sherbaz Khan Mazari wrote the following about his meeting with Ms Jinnah a year later in 1965:
"I met miss Fatima Jinnah a few days after the elections at her residence at the Mohatta Palace in Karachi. She had a little dog in her lap throughout our meeting. There were three other dogs scampering about the room barking at each other. 'You don't mind dogs, do you?' she asked me with an initial show of concern. She was a direct and forceful lady, using words sparingly."
