Islamabad Police lodged another case of violence on minor domestic help on the complaint of the victim’s mother.

Police filed the FIR (first information report) against a woman who was accused of torturing minor housemaid under sections 342, 506, and 328 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

While allowing the family members and the 13-year-old survivor, Andleeb Fatima, to return to their home town, the police did not detain the primary suspect or any other suspect connected to the crime.

The victim’s mother reported to the police that her daughter had been employed as a domestic helper in a home in Sector G-15 since July 2023. However, the suspect forbade her daughter from calling her relatives on the phone.

"When she saw me, my daughter Andleeb began to scream and requested me to take her home. When I asked her why she was sobbing, she said that the house lady had been torturing her mercilessly every day while she was imprisoned in a room," Bibi told the police when she arrived at the residence where her daughter was working on August 16.

The complainant informed the authorities, citing her daughter, that the housewife had previously burned her body with scorching iron spoons and had imprisoned her without giving her food. She further said that beating her inhumanely had been a regular occurrence.

The case has been taken up by the police, who have also started an inquiry.
