Mystery Shrouds Death of JSQM-B Activist in Hyderabad: Suicide or Foul Play?

Controversy has erupted over the death of a woman affiliated with a nationalist party in Sindh, who was found dead in her home the other day under mysterious circumstances.

Her family claims foul play may be involved as police say they have found what appears to be a suicide note, which suggests disappointment in her love life.

A security official at her apartment complex in the Naseem Nagar area of Hyderabad had found the political activist Murk Jan Pirzada hanging from a ceiling fan around midnight between November 15 and 16, police said.

Her body was later taken to Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) in Jamshoro for an autopsy.

After all medico-legal formalities were completed, her body was handed over to her family for burial.

Pirzada's mother accused Saif Jataoi, a friend of her daughter, of being responsible for her death.

The deceased was affiliated with the nationalist party, Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz-Bashir (JSQM-B). Police and family said she was employed at a private bank, and around a month ago, she had rented the apartment where she was found dead.

Pirzada's mother said that the deceased was on friendly terms with Jatoi, who had helped find her the apartment. However, Pirzada's mother accused Jatoi of causing mental stress for her daughter as he abused their friendship and bears responsibility for her daughter's death.

Pirzada's sister, while corroborating the statements of their mother, claimed that her sister was under immense mental stress and even depression in the days leading up to her demise. She claimed that it seemed that she was hiding something which was causing her mental anguish.

Meanwhile, Anwar Shah, a watchman at the apartment complex where Pirzada was renting, said that he had allegedly received a phone call from a man who identified himself as Saif Jatoi to check whether Pirzada was present in her flat. When the watchman checked, he received no answer. He allegedly smashed a window to look into her room and saw her body hanging from the ceiling fan.

Suicide note recovered

Meanwhile, police say they have recovered a suspected suicide note from the apartment.

The Naseem Nagar police station's chief said that the note pointed to the deceased's abortive love life with alleged deception.

He added that they had seized other materials from her flat to assist with their investigations.

The police official said that they had decided to send the alleged suicide note for a forensic analysis to verify whether she wrote it.

Asked about the results of the initial post-mortem report, he said that doctors found a mark around her neck.

He added that they were investigating the matter from various angles to ascertain the facts of the case and uncover whether there was any external element involved.
