Bilawal Wishes PTI A Cheeky 'Bye Bye' After PPP Clinches Multan, Karachi
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday wished the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) a cheeky "bye bye" as the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) clinched two National Assembly seats in by-elections held yesterday.

The PPP chairman felicitated "brother" Ali Musa Gillani and Hakeem Baloch on micro-blogging site Twitter after the two emerged victorious in a by-poll upset for the PTI. The two, Bilawal said, had emerged victorious on seats PTI chairman Imran Khan had "stolen" in the 2018 general elections.

"Karachi & Multan , bye bye PTI! Congratulations to brother @SyedMusaGillani & Hakeem Baloch for defeating @ImranKhanPTI from seats he had stolen in 2018 election. #JeetKaNishanTeer," the PPP chairman said in his tweet. His tweet had been retweeted a little under 3,000 times by the time this report was filed. Over 8,000 liked it. The post boasts around 4,000 comments under.

PTI chairman Imran on Sunday emerged victorious across six of seven NA seats he famously ran for in by-elections held yesterday. The PPP, on the other hand, clinched two NA seats. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), separately, only scored one of three Provincial Assembly seats up for grabs.

He termed the polls a “referendum” on the snap general elections while speaking to journalists on Monday. He said this was so since it was common knowledge that the party would not return to the National Assembly (NA). This, he then said, was representative of a public no-confidence in the current NA and the “imported government” foisted on the nation following an international conspiracy.

“The people have rejected them,” he said. Imran said the people had delivered their verdict time and again in the recent by-elections in the Punjab, Karachi and Malakand earlier too.
