Chaudhry Shujaat Thinking Of Quitting Politics Due To Punjab Assembly Brawl: Report
Pakistan Muslim League - Q (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Shujat Hussain is reportedly considering leaving politics due to what he sees as an increase in aggression and intolerance among politicians.

Geo News quoted sources as saying that Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leader Liaquat Baloch asked Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain to intervene and help calm the situation down after Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was attacked during the Punjab Assembly session last week, to which Shujaat said that he was uncertain whether he wants to even stay in politics.

Baloch advised Shujaat to publicly denounce this aggression in politics, and he reportedly said to him that he would make a decision about his future role.

On Saturday, disturbing scenes of violence were witnessed inside the Punjab Assembly as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League – Q (PML-Q) members attacked opponents. For the first time in history, police were called inside the assembly to restore peace as members kept beating each other up.

According to reporters present on the ground, the assembly staff was assisting PTI members as they tortured their rivals. PTI members claimed that opposition members attacked them. However, the footage being shown on channels show PTI and PML-Q members first attacking Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Dost Mazari, while Speaker Pervez Elahi was cheering them on while sitting at his seat.

Pervez Elahi was also injured in the clash and claimed that his hand was severely injured. Elahi had first praised the PTI members who had beaten up the deputy speaker.
