Dog on the runway as prime minister lands 


Reported in Nawa-e-Waqt (November 8, 2015) when Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s plane landed at the Bahawalpur airport, the pilot had to hit emergency brakes because there was a dog on the runway. The airport manager was suspended.

Two disabled, two dead accused of stealing water 


Dunya reports (November 9, 2015) Sargodha police named a blind man, a disabled man and two dead men in a water theft report. They are carrying out raids to arrest the suspects.

The parliamentarian who secretly hates the parliament


According to Jang (November 10, 2015) a vote cast during the election of the National Assembly speaker was cancelled because it said the following in red ink: ‘This parliament is an enemy of the country, an enemy of the poor, and an enemy of the farmers. It is illegal to vote for it.”

Indian monkey wreaks havoc in Pakistan 


Nawa-e-Waqt says (November 10, 2015) a monkey that came from the Indian side of the border in Shakargarh created a chaos (oodham macha diya) in Pakistan. A number of people were injured trying to catch it.

Local council candidate was wanted for fraud 


Reported in Dunya (November 10, 2015) a PML-N candidate for vice chairman of a local council in Sargodha turned out wanted in a fraud case. When the police raided his locality, he left his election campaign and fled.

Policemen fall victim to ‘easyload’ scam


Express reports (November 11, 2015) a con artist claiming to be an SSP tricked two policemen, who were billed for two ‘easyload’ transactions of Rs 15,000 each. He got their phone numbers from the reader of the Sheikhupura district police officer and claimed to be an SSP from Karachi.

Pakistani High Commission angry with Adnan Sami Khan


According to Dunya (November 12, 2015) famous musician Adnan Sami Khan –  who is seeking Indian citizenship and needed a certificate that his Pakistani citizenship has been cancelled – upset the Pakistani High Commission in India when he returned his passport to them in a ridiculing manner (tazheek aamez) saying he did not need it any longer. The high commission said he had violated the sanctity of the passport, and he would not get the certificate until he apologized unconditionally.

As soon as PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari left the party’s Diwali celebrations in Mithi, workers at the event attacked the cake (toot parray), Express reports (November 13, 2015). As a result, disorder (badnazmi) prevailed.

Quoted in Jang (November 14, 2015) model Rachel Khan says she once slapped cricketer Umar Akmal at an event in Norway because he was drunk and misbehaved with her. He also misbehaved with Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma and Bollywood star Mahima Chaudhry.
