Bollywood Star Neha Dhupia Set To Make Her Int’l Film Debut

Under the direction of renowned Egyptian director Ali El Arabi, Neha Dhupia is set to captivate a worldwide audience in her first international film, Blue 52.

In Blue 52, Ali El Arabi, who gained recognition for his critically acclaimed documentary film Captains of Za'atari, showcases his directing expertise. El Arabi, who has won awards from film festivals such as Hot Docs and El Gouna, is about to reapply his narrative talent to fiction.

Blue 52, which is set against the stunning backdrops of Qatar, India, and Kochi, is Neha Dhupia's first step into a unique role. The film promises to reveal a hitherto undiscovered aspect of the actress as she delves deeply into a character who is rife with strong emotional turmoil.

The main character of the story is Ashish, a 9-year-old who is abandoned by his father when his older brother passes away. Ashish is raised in isolation on an island in Kochi's backwaters, with little exposure to the outside world other than his passion for Messi and the lessons his mother instilled in him to prepare him for life outside the island. With his mother's encouragement and an almost unbelievable chance to meet his idol, Lionel Messi, at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Ashish is determined to take risks and explore the unknown. Along the journey, he uncovers himself and his hobbies.

Producer Tariq Al-Naama collaborates with director Ali El Arabi for Blue 52. Katara Studios, Joe Matthews, and Krysanne Katsoolis are co-producers.
