A Muslim student was beaten black and blue in India's Madhya Pradesh state for talking to a Hindu girl classmate.
In the video of the incident, several men – reportedly belonging to the hardline Hindu Jagaran Manch – can be seen surrounding the boy and continuously slapping and punching him.
The later part of the video shows Shahbaz, the victim, shouting in pain as two of the mobsters begin to violently beat him, apparently with batons.
They also filmed the victim's ordeal, before threatening him about talking to the girl. The mobsters also allegedly forced the girl that Shahbaz spoke to, to file a case of molestation against him.
Despite the grave threats, the Computer Science student lodged an FIR against unidentified men, but the police are yet to take any action against the culprits despite the fact that they are known criminals.
HJM hardliners are also said to have recently assaulted another Muslim man for spending time with a friend.

A historical mosque located in India’s Uttar Pradesh was recently demolished to “widen the road”. In a widely circulated video on social media platforms, a crane can be seen demolishing the structure.
In the said clip, passersby and onlookers are seen making videos as the mosque is razed to the ground.
One Twitter user had suggested that Shahi Masjid was located in Allahabad and built during Sher Shah Suri’s time.
They said it was razed to widen the GT Road, and a court hearing in this regard was due for Jan 16 for any action to be taken afterwards.
According to an analysis, thoughtful Hindus will have to decide if they want to uphold free Hindu expression or behave increasingly like hardline clerics. The latter would be unfortunate, as strong positions against freedom of religious expression and of conscience only stem from a place of a deep-rooted insecurity and inferiority complex.
It is best for the ruling regime in the neighbouring country to take notice of the intent of the hardliners. If that isn’t done, there is a threat that it will soon lose its status of being a secular nation.
