An Afghan journalist, Musa Mohammadi, was spotted selling food on the side of a street after losing his job following the Taliban takeover of the country.
Kabir Haqmal, a former Afghan government official, tweeted pictures of the former journalist selling food on a street and said that after the Taliban's takeover of Kabul, Musa Mohammadi has been forced into poverty.
"Musa Mohammadi worked for years as an anchor and reporter in different TV channels, and now he has no income to feed his family," Haqmal wrote in his tweet.
Meanwhile, Ahmadullah Wasiq, the director general of National Radio and Television and acting director for intelligence and deputy head of the cultural commission of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, responded to the tweet and said that the journalist will be given employment "within the framework of National Radio and Television".
It is pertinent to mention that since the Taliban took over Afghanistan, the country has been experiencing a humanitarian and economic crisis.
Earlier, the World Bank had said that the outlook for Afghanistan's economy is dire with per capita income having fallen by over a third in the last four months of 2021.
