Former prime minister Imran Khan said during a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally in Gujranwala that the families of army personnel will also join his long march to Islamabad.
Addressing a crowd of PTI supporters, Khan said that the police will help his supporters in getting to Islamabad. "They will send their family members with you as will government employees. And I know the families of my army will also come with us to Islamabad," he said.
During his address he revealed that he will announce the date of the long march during his rally in Multan on Friday, May 20.
He asked women, children and the elderly to also join him on his march for 'true freedom' and to speak out against the 'American conspiracy'.
The PTI chairperson claimed that this was no longer mere politics, it was now a revolution, saying, "This is called revolution when the people become a nation and then we [can] combat these mafias who suck our blood. We will badly defeat them."
He claimed that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's (PML-N) time was up since Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his brother Nawaz Sharif were now "trapped", adding that a "sea of people" would now sweep them away.
Khan also mentioned the corruption cases against PM Shehbaz, saying that the minute Shehbaz left the prime minister's office, the investigations against him would resume and he would be thrown in prison.
He also claimed that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chair Asif Ali Zardari was very 'pleased' at the failings of the PML-N government during the ongoing economic crisis, saying that Zardari was dominant over PPP and would take his revenge soon.
