In an interview with Geo News, Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah confirmed that the name of the next, new Army Chief has been finalised.
As per Sanaullah, there is a consensus preceding all major and critical decisions. And although there is freedom for consultation and discussion, the final decision lies with the Prime Minister as is his prerogative.
However, formal proceedings are yet to take place which means the formal appointment will take place after another day or so.
Sanaullah further spoke about PTI Chairman Imran Khan and his lack of respect or regard for anyone else. He quoted Shah Mahmood Qureshi as saying that 'Imran is crazy because he doesn’t listen to anyone.'
In Sanaullah’s view, Imran Khan has been consistently spouting lies and is aware that the long march is of no consequence but an act for the media.
The Minister further said that they are always open to discussions with other members of the PTI and they have been in consultations with Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Pervez Khattak, and Fawad Chaudhry.
