A blast near Balochistan University on Saroab Road, Quetta on Monday claimed a policeman's life while 17 other people were injured.
Following the incident, law enforcement personnel came to the blast site and sealed off the area. According to Balochistan government spokesperson Liaquat Shahwani, a police truck present outside the gate of the university was target of the attack. An explosive device is said to have been planted in a nearby motorcycle.
Shahwani added that those found involved in the attack would be brought to justice. Earlier, he took to Twitter to inform his followers that a policeman embraced martyrdom in the attack. 11 people including seven policemen and four passersby sustained injuries in the incident, he initially said. However, in a later update, he said that 17 people were wounded in the attack.
