Former first lady and wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) incarcerated chairman Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, has expressed fears that her husband could be assassinated whilst serving his three-year prison term inside a prison cell at the Attock Jail.
She expressed these fears in a letter to the provincial home ministry, which emerged on Saturday.
In the letter, Bushra pointed to how Imran Khan's life remains in danger and how he had previously survived assassination attempts. She said that those responsible for those attacks have yet to be apprehended, as a result, his life remains at risk.
The letter, written on August 17 and addressed to the Punjab Home Secretary, expresses fear that Imran could be fed poison while consuming jail food.
She demanded that Imran should be allowed to receive and consume food prepared by her staff at their home.
The former first lady noted that those responsible for past attempts on Imran Khan's life have yet to be apprehended.
Bushra reiterated her demand that Imran should be shifted from the Attock Jail to Adiala Jail as per his arrest warrant and that the former prime minister should be provided with B-Class facilities as per the entitlement of his stature.
