Lahore Court Sends Dua Zehra To Darul Aman
A local court in Lahore has sent Dua Zehra to a shelter home, where she is being kept under strict security and protection.

Earlier in her plea, Dua Zehra maintained that she fears for her life and requested the court to send her to a shelter home at the earliest.

The court accepted the plea and directed the concerned authorities to move the teenager to a shelter home.

In April, Dua Zehra, 15, had mysteriously disappeared from her house in Karachi but later declared that she had run away from her home to marry 21-year-old Zaheer Ahmed.

Dua’s father, Mehdi Kazmi, has filed multiple cases in courts to acquire her custody, claiming that his daughter was kidnapped by Zaheer Ahmed as she was a “minor” and could not have gotten married due to her age.

In a tweet today, Salman Sufi, the head of Prime Minister’s Strategic Reforms, said: “[The] Punjab government has secured Dua Zehra at Darul Aman under strict security and protection after a court order. [The] Sindh government has been requested to dispatch a child protection bureau team to take her to her parents.”

Salman Sufi further said that Dua’s husband Zaheer is being traced for arrest.
