LHC Allows PMLN MPs to Attend No-Confidence Session
Lahore High Court has allowed 18 lawmakers of the ruling PML-N to attend the crucial no-trust session of Punjab Assembly, bringing much relief to the party ahead of the possible de-seating of the chief minister.

The two-judge bench Tuesday heard the case on the pleas challenging the ban by Speaker Sibtain Khan.

The court asked the counsel for Khan whether the lawmakers will be allowed to cast their vote, to which he replied that he couldn't, in his capacity, respond to the question.

The rules of procedure reportedly allow the barred assembly members to exercise their right to vote.

Meanwhile, Speaker Sibtain is said to have sought the opinion of legal experts on the looming no-trust motion.

A day earlier (Dec 19), a delegation of PPP and PML-N submitted the motion against CM Elahi. According to them, political parties have lost their confidence in him as the Leader of the House.

In view of the motion, Governor Punjab has summoned the session on Wednesday (tomorrow) at 4pm.
