Getz Pharma came together with the Eqbal Ahmed Centre for Public Education to host the film awards 8 years ago. The theme for KLF this year is People Planet and Possibilities – All 3 being key values for the Getz Pharma family. Stemming from this comes a topic that is very close to our hearts, Unearthing Cultures of Pakistan.

Getz Pharma received over 100 entries from across the country, which is a testament to the diversity and creativity of the filmmakers in Pakistan. Each one special in their own way. The participants showed us worlds from the rich colours of the Thar Desert, to the songs and festivities in our northern areas.
Some of the stories offered a unique window into the myriad of cultures that exist in our country, the people who make them come alive, and their challenges.
At their session in the Jasmine Hall of Beach Luxury Hotel, the talents of aspiring filmmakers from across Pakistan were celebrated. The winning entry for this year was the short film titled, 'Life in the Kalasha Valley' by Sualeha Qureshi, and the runner-up film was titled, 'Land of Maahigair' by Hasan Siddiqui.
The films were judged by a panel of 5 judges including Khalid Ahmed, Bakhtawar Mazhar, Yasra Rizvi, Saife Hasan and Maha Hasan.
The criteria for grading covered 5 areas:

The winning films were screened in front of a live audience, followed by a thought-provoking panel discussion on the theme of 'Unearthing Cultures of Pakistan.'
