Islamic International University Islamabad (IIUI) has expelled 10 more students due to their alleged involvement in a scuffle that broke out between two groups earlier this month.
Earlier, 15 students were expelled by the disciplinary committee. An investigation report found that no guard was present at the hostel's gate when the students involved in the fight were arranging batons. Further, the report says that the administration did nothing to defuse the situation before the incident took place.
IIUU spokesperson Nasir Farid was quoted as saying by Dawn that the university will act against those individuals whose negligence caused the incident. He also said that the administration did not promote any student group and acts against all those involved in unrest regardless of their affiliation.
