PM Shehbaz Says Entire Nation Should Condemn Imran's Inappropriate Remarks About Maryam Nawaz
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called on the nation to condemn the remarks made by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan during a rally wherein he said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif should be careful as her husband might get upset over how ‘passionately’ she mentions Imran during her speeches.

The PM said in a tweet that the entire nation, especially women, should condemn the "deplorable language" used by Imran Khan against "daughter Maryam". He added that Imran's crimes against the nation couldn't be hidden by his "expression of low humor".

He questioned how could the people who couldn't even respect the sanctity of the Holy Mosque, be expected to respect mothers, sisters and daughters.

The Prime Minister claimed that Imran Khan was the first person in history to go to such depths of depravity as a leader of a political party, saying that the PTI had set out to 'build a nation' but had ruined the morals of the nation instead.

Speaking to a crowd of PTI supporters in Multan on Friday, Imran Khan said “Maryam Nawaz kept mentioning me with such passion and rigor while speaking at her rally,” adding that he wanted to tell her to be careful that her husband doesn’t get upset over how she mentions Imran.

The statements made by Imran Khan have been widely condemned on social media, with many prominent journalists and activists speaking out against sexist comments levied against women and pointing out that using such language sends out the message to Pakistani men that it is alright to make personal attacks against women.
