A Pakistan Army soldier fell in the line of duty as terrorists open fire at a military post in the Thall area of Hangu, according to information released by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR). The military's media wing said: "During the exchange of fire, Sepoy Waqas (age 26 years, resident of Mansehra) embraced shahadat."
Pakistani troops responded to terrorist activity promptly and "effectively engaged" their location, the ISPR stated. Subsequently, an operation was launched to clear the area of any more terrorist forces.
This week, another exchange of fire claimed the life of one soldier in North Waziristan, according to the ISPR:
"During intense exchange of fire, Sepoy Saifullah (age 25 years, resident of Karak) embraced shahadat."
