While the reaction to the drama has generally been positive and the script has been receiving rave reviews, some things have not gone down so well. One of them has been a bedroom scene between the characters Meerab and Murtasim.
Although nothing explicit happens, it is a romantic scene with a heavy dose of tenderness. This has made viewers uncomfortable saying that this is very much a shift towards Bollywood and Hollywood style of storytelling in which romance scenes are normal and a move away from Pakistani conservatism.
Exactly why this is unacceptable when violence against women and children shown in dramas are indicates an audience who need to understand that entertainment need not be violent to be deemed as acceptable viewing but in fact, love and tolerance needs to be upheld and dramas are a means of doing so.
