Russia Unintentionally Bombs Own City
A Russian Sukhoi-34 supersonic warplane fired an unintentional round into the city of Belgorod in the vicinity of Ukraine on Thursday, setting off an explosion and injuring three people.

Concrete mounds on the roadway, many damaged automobiles, and a structure with broken windows were all visible in video footage taken at the scene. In one image, a car that looked to be upside down was visible on a store's roof.

The governor of Belgorod, Vyacheslav Gladkov, declared an emergency last night after claiming that one of the main avenues had a 20-meter-wide (65-foot-wide) crater. He continued, "Four cars and four apartment buildings were damaged." He said that there had been three injuries.

Vyacheslav Gladkov sent a comment on Telegram saying, "Thank God there are no dead," and adding that an apartment block had been evacuated the previous night.

According to the Russian Defence Ministry, a Su-34 supersonic fighter bomber accidentally discharged a weapon, according to the Russian news outlet Tass.

The kind of weapon used wasn't specified.

According to Tass, the ministry declared that several buildings had been harmed and that an investigation was already underway.

Since the beginning of what Moscow refers to as its "special military operation" in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, targets like fuel and ammunition stores have been rocked by explosions in a number of southern Russian regions, including the Belgorod region.
