Maryam Nawaz Pulls Out Tabdeeli Jokes Amidst Dismal Outlook For PTI In KP LG Elections
Commenting on opposition parties’ gains in local government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz Sharif has poked fun at the ruling PTI for its defeats. In a twist on the PTI’s well-known slogan “tabdeeli aa nahin rahi, tabdeeli aa gaii hai” (Change is not coming, change is already here), the PML-N leader said in her tweet: “tabdeeli aa nahin rahi, tabdeeli ja rahi hai” (Change is not coming, change is going).



Opposition parties have so far secured three out of four mayoral seats in the local government elections. The PTI is also in some danger of losing the fourth one. In unofficial results so far, out of 64 tehsil councils so far, the opposition JUI-F has won 16 tehsil council seats, and the ruling PTI has won 14. The ANP won a six seats and PML-N three, while independent candidates secured 10 seats.
