'Where Did This Money Come From?': CM Pervaiz Elahi Challenged in Supreme Court Over Gujrat Division
A petition was filed in the Supreme Court challenging the approval of funds worth Rs. 100 billion for Gujrat Division by Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi.

The petitioner also prayed that the court issues a stay order against the release of the funds till the judgment in this case.

The petition alleged that the Punjab government had illegally allocated the budget against “bogus development schemes” in the home constituency of the chief minister.

The allocation of the said fund is a violation of Articles 120 and 124 of the Constitution, according to the petition.

The petition further said that previously, the apex court had also declared the approval of funds without the permission of the assembly as illegal. The chief minister office, the petition noted, was 'manipulating' the record pertaining to the bogus development schemes.

The petition prayed that the court issue a stay order against release of funds, and also order an investigation into the development projects allocated for Gujrat.

It named Punjab government, NAB chairman and others as respondents in the case.

This petition has been filed through Mian Dawood Advocate.
