Mansehra Assistant Commissioner Attacked By Men Who Did Not Want A Female Civil Servant
Three men attacked and injured Mansehra Assistant Commissioner Marvi Malik Sher, later telling police that they did so because they did not want a female civil servant in the area.

In an attack on March 18, the three men began following AC Malik in her car, trying to overtake her on the road.  They took photos and videos of her, finally stopping their car in front of hers.  From there, they attempted to pull AC Malik out of her car, injuring her and her guard in the process.

Bystanders witnessed the violent attack and intervened, detaining the three accused until police responded to the incident. The accused told police that they were dismayed at having a 'woman as an assistant commissioner in their area'.

Marvi Malik set a record with her sisters when all five women passed the CSS exam and joined Pakistan's government bureaucracy. Marvi passed in the competitive exam in 2017. The youngest sister passed the exam in 2020, making national news. Each year, approximately 2 per cent of test-takers pass the CSS exam.

Last week in Mansehra, five trans women were shot and injured, after a group of armed men broke into their home and opened fire. The wounded transgender persons were taken to the Ayub Medical Complex after the attack. Members of the transgender community have called on the authorities to hold the perpetrators accountable.
