ECP Tests Its Result Compilation System

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has held tests for its electronic results compilation system even as it sought updates from the relevant departments on data for holding delimitations.

In a statement issued by the ECP on Tuesday, a meeting was held with Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan Sikander Sultan Raja presiding. The meeting was attended by ECP members, the secretary and other senior officials.

The commission reviewed its electronic Result Compilation System (RCR), whereby presiding officers can transmit their respective results from returning officers via the special mobile phone app.

The returning officer can then use the data to compile unofficial results.

The commission was briefed that a mock exercise was conducted, and all aspects of the application were checked. The commission expressed its satisfaction with the application.

Delimitation

The commission reviewed the process of delimitation. The commission noted that the provincial governments and the federal statistics department have been asked to immediately provide the necessary documents and data for the delimitation process. These relevant officials have also been sent a reminder call.
