The Sindh High Court has ordered a shelter home to produce Arzoo Raja, an underage Christian girl who reportedly converted to Islam and married of her free will, on Wednesday (today) after she filed an application requesting she be allowed to go to her parents’ home.
Last year, the court had sent Arzoo to a shelter home after it emerged that she was less than 18 years of age, but she had said that she would not go with her parents.
In an application sent from the shelter, the child said that she wanted to leave the shelter, calling on the court to let her go with her parents.
Headed by Justice Mohammad Karim Khan Agha, the two member bench of the high court said that the issue would be decided after hearing the girl. The shelter home was then asked by the court to produce her in the court today.
