A senior officer of Lahore's police department was found dead at his home under mysterious circumstances.
Lahore police sources said that DIG Shariq Jamali was at his house in the upscale DHA area of the city.
Jamali had two house help at home, to whom he assigned some tasks that were to be completed outside the house.
When they returned, they found Jamali dead at home. They informed the police, who, after completing formalities, shifted his body to the hospital for a postmortem.
The house help said that Jamali was alone at home and that his family was at another home.
Prior to his death, DIG Jamali had served as the head of the city's traffic division apart from serving as DIG Railways police.
Currently, he was not assigned any post and was an "officer on special duty" (OSD), usually a position allotted prior to any new assignment.
