CM Naqvi Reshuffles Punjab Cabinet
Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi on Thursday reshuffled his interim cabinet, The Friday Times (TFT) has learnt.

A notification issued by the Punjab Government's Services and General Administration Department (cabinet wing) and signed by Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman reads: "In exercise of the powers conferred upon him under Rule 3(5) of the Punjab Government Rules of Business, 2011, the Chief Minister, Punjab is pleased to reassign the portfolios of the Ministers of the Provincial Caretaker Cabinet."

SM Tanveer previously held the portfolio of Energy and Industries, Commerce, Investment and Skill Development (ICI&SD). His bouquet of portfolios has seen an addition of the Agriculture department as well.

Ibrahim Murad, who was previously heading the all-important Local Government & Community Development (LG&CD) Department, has lost his role. In its stead, he has been assigned to the Livestock & Dairy Department. He has also been charged with overseeing the Transport and Mines & Minerals departments.

Bilal Afzal, who was previously serving as Communication and Works (C&W) and the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control (ET&NC) Department, has been reassigned to the Planning and Development (P&D) department. He will also oversee the Environment Protection, Forest, Wildlife and & Fisheries departments.

Dr Javed Akram, who was previously serving as the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education (SHC&ME) ministry, has been handed the additional assignment of social welfare.

Dr Jamal Nasir, who was looking after the Primary and Secondary Health Care Department (P&HD), has been given the additional task of looking after the Population Welfare departments as well.

Mansoor Qadir, who was working as the minister in charge of the Higher Education and School Education Department, has been assigned an additional portfolio of the Management and Professional Development Department (MPDD).

Azfar Ali Nasir, who had the charge of the Housing, Urban Development (HUD) and the Public Health Department (PHE), Auqaf & Religious Affairs (RA), has now been assigned additional duties of the Zakat and Ushr departments.

Last week, Naqvi had handed an additional ministry to cabinet member and Punjab Caretaker Information and Culture Amir Mir the additional duties of the provincial Tourism, Archaeology and Museums departments.
