The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Friday suspended the basic party membership of senior party leader and its Central Executive Committee (CEC) member Sardar Latif Khosa, a party spokesperson confirmed.
Khosa, one of the leading lawyers in the country and a former governor of Punjab during the tenure of the PPP government, saw his party membership get suspended after the expiration of a show cause.
Khosa did not respond to the show cause notice.
The notice had been issued by the secretary general of the party, Nayyer Hussain Bukhari, for violating the party policy to fight the case of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.
Earlier, Khosa had denied receiving the show cause notice, stating that he would file a reply once he received it.
Moreover, the party had previously suspended another senior party and CEC member, lawyer Aitzaz Ahsan.
