A dozen and a half newly-inducted police officers from the Police Service of Pakistan will receive a week-long training on the Criminal Justice System at the Federal Judicial Academy.
The training is part of a partnership between the Federal Judicial Academy (FJA) and the National Police Academy under a “Professional Exchange Programme”. Some 18 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) will receive training to develop a deeper understanding of the judicial system, the law of the land, emerging laws, and challenges for the criminal justice system. Apart from lectures on a variety of very important subjects such as “Preventive Powers, Public Nuisance and Disputes of Possession”, “Collection and Preservation of Evidence”, “Admissibility and Relevancy of Evidence”, “Understanding Land Revenue Record”, “Cyber Law Regime in Pakistan”, just to mention a few.
While addressing the trainees in the inaugural ceremony, FJA Director General Hayat Ali Shah said, “Police is an important pillar of the criminal justice system. This professional exchange programme is reflective of a lasting and sustainable partnership between the Federal Judicial Academy and the National Police Academy. This programme is designed to promote mutual understanding and enhance professional skills of the newly-inducted police officers of the Police Service of Pakistan.”
