Taliban Want To Help Pakistan Liberate Kashmir: PTI Leader

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Neelam Irshad Sheikh has said the Taliban wish to join forces with Pakistan to liberate Kashmir.

Sheikh, who appeared on a TV talk show, was listing Pakistan’s foreign policy successes when she mentioned that the Taliban wished to aid Pakistan in liberating Kashmir.

“The green passport is being respected all around the world. We are getting remittances and investment. There is so much revenue being generated. The whole world is recognizing Pakistan; whether it is the Turkish government, or the Malaysian government; even in Afghanistan, the Taliban say we are with you and want to join you to liberate Kashmir.”

Here the anchor interrupted her and said, “I feel like I am sitting on an Indian broadcast and a BJP representative is showing me some beautiful dreams. Please tell me, who has told you this about the Taliban? Did you get a WhatsApp, saying the Taliban will join us to liberate Kashmir?”

“Don’t you see the news? Don’t you see how much respect Prime Minister Imran Khan is getting?” Sheikh replied.

“I am asking you: who has told you the Taliban will join us to liberate Kashmir?” the anchor insisted.

Here, Irshad was unable to give a clear answer. When the anchor continued to probe, she replied, “We have a strong army and a strong government…”

“So, if we have the army, then they will liberate Kashmir. How did you bring the Taliban into this? And if the Taliban will liberate Kashmir, what will the military do?”

Once again, the PTI leader was unable to give a clear answer.

A clip of this exchange has gone viral on social media. Many criticized the PTI leader for her words and others were amused.
