Bollywood superstar Ranbir Kapoor on Wednesday tendered an apology for 'fat-shaming' expectant wife Alia Bhatt.
Ranbir was speaking to journalists alongside filmmaker SS Rajamouli and peer Nagarjuna when he was quizzed on whether he would like to present a clarification pertaining his recent comments. "Absolutely," he replied. "Firstly, let me start with, I love my wife with everything that I have in my life. And what happened on that, I think it's a joke that didn't turn out to be funny. I really want to apologise if I have triggered anyone. It was not my intention. So, I want to say sorry to people who got offended or triggered. I spoke to Alia about it and she really laughed it off and she didn't mind it. But I do have a bad sense of humour and sometimes it falls flat on my own face. So, I am sorry if I have hurt anyone about it," the actor added.
Alia and Ranbir had recently gone live on Instagram to promote their upcoming movie Brahmastra. During the session, when Alia, in response to a question about the promotion of the movie, said they have not “phailoed” [spread] the film, Ranbir pointed at her belly and said that someone had “phailoed” instead. The Kapoor scion was slammed after over his problematic statement.
