Pakistani Singers Use Drugs To Develop Voice: Naeem Abbas Rufi
Naeem Abbas Rufi is a classical Pakistani singer with his recent hit being 'Aaya Laariye' for Coke Studio. In an interview with Nadir Ali he was asked about the consumption of drugs by Pakistani singers.

Refreshingly, Rufi was not one to moral police or condemn. In fact he explained that in some cases, a specific drug was used to add richness to a voice but it was consumed as a necessity to develop a singer's voice along with a rich diet of meat and desi ghee.

Naeem Abbas Rufi further explained that in today's time, singers used it but they did not accompany the use with the necessary diet which caused their appearance to be gaunt.

According to Rufi, these two are the only big names in Pakistan commanding such high amounts. In the United States, their fee can reach a whopping $70,000, which equals approximately PKR 96 lac. Meanwhile, in Pakistan, they charge around PKR 10 million to PKR 8 million for concerts and corporate events. Rufi further noted that the amount can go even higher, depending on the situation. Although Atif Aslam does not perform at private events, if he does, his fee is even higher. On the other hand, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan does perform at weddings.
