Chaudhry Nisar Unwilling To Join PTI: Report
Estranged Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) leader and former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that he does not plan to join the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and will remain independent. Daily Jang quoted sources as saying that the former minister has refused to join the PTI.

The report further said Nisar would not join the PML-N or Pakistan People's Party (PPP) either. These reports come a day after Prime Minister Imran Khan claimed to have met Chaudhry Nisar. The PM had however stopped short of sharing details of the meeting.

The PM had said that he knows Nisar for the last four decades and often meets with him. "Chaudhry Nisar will take all his decisions himself," he had said, suggesting that the estranged PML-N leader would come to Khan's rescue.

Efforts to woo dissidents continue

Earlier, estranged PTI leader Jahangir Khan Tareen and his group were reportedly offered development funds if they withdraw their demand to remove Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.

Geo News quoted sources as saying that Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas had a meeting with Nauman Langrial and Abdu Havi Dasti, members of the Tareen group, about their grievances.

The provincial minister is said to have made a phone call to Defence Minister Pervez Khattak who joined Rass in assuring the Tareen group that the development funds would be released at the earliest.
